Mark Tribe + Martin Wattenberg

This is Mark Tribe. Tribe has served as Chair of the MFA Fine Arts Department at School of Visual Arts in New York City since 2013. Since 2012, he has made landscape pictures that explore American ideas about nature and land, from Manifest Destiny to contemporary environmentalism. He is also known for his early contributions to the field of new media art, as well as his socially-engaged performances and installations.

Martin Wattenberg is a professor at Harvard and also a part-time member of Google Research's PAIR (People + AI Research) initiative, which he also co-founded. Hisresearch focuses on ways technology can create connection, insight, narrative, and beauty. A particular interest of his is inventing visual tools to illuminate systems based on machine learning and artificial intelligence.
